Bills WR Stefon Diggs 'Likes The Drama!' Says NFL Scout
Buffalo Bills star receiver Stefon Diggs has been the talk of the team's offseason, but not for the right reasons.
In mid-June, he ignited a media firestorm after mysteriously being absent for Buffalo's mandatory mini-camp. Even after Diggs returned the next day, speculation about his relationship with the team ran wild, with some even wondering if he could want out.
This comes months after Diggs had a verbal exchange with quarterback Josh Allen on the sideline near the end of the Bills' Divisional Round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, a game where he had just four receptions for 35 yards. Diggs isn't any stranger to drama, and one anonymous scout believes he may actually enjoy it.
"He likes the drama and being an enigmatic guy," the scout told ESPN. "I'm not saying he's wrong -- they should have gone to him more in that playoff game. But he'll be on his best behavior until he decides not to be."
The aforementioned quote comes from an ESPN survey polling executives, coaches and scouts about the top 10 receivers in the league, with Diggs placing at No. 6. The only receivers ahead of him were Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders), Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals), Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins) and Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Rams).
However, the comment about Diggs' apparent propensity for drama, which the scout called the "Diggs experience," is what really stands out. With this latest saga, as well as some controversy stemming from his departure from Minnesota, Diggs is no stranger to the spotlight off the field.
With his contract situation, though, Diggs will almost certainly be in Buffalo for this season. As such, his and the Bills' main focus should be on winning that ever-elusive Super Bowl.
