Bills Von Miller Addresses Stefon Diggs Absence: 'I'm on Stef's Side!'

"He wants to be here, he wants to win a Super Bowl," Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller said of Stefon Diggs.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller spoke to the media Tuesday as mandatory minicamp started, with seemingly endless Miller-related things to discuss: his ongoing injury recovery, his annual pass rush summit, the recent signing of former Los Angeles Rams teammate Leonard Floyd, and much more.

But one of Buffalo's most talkative and insightful players was relegated to questions about the surprising mandatory minicamp absence of star recevier Stefon Diggs, something that coach Sean McDermott admittedly had him "very concerned."

Miller let out a sigh of relief once he was finally asked "a question about Von." Before that though, he was open to sharing as much as he realistically could about his take on the odd Diggs ordeal - and picked a "side" while doing so.

"I'm on Stef's side," Miller said. "I feel like the little stuff that we've seen in the media about him is certainly not true. It wouldn't be a Von Miller here with the Buffalo Bills without Stef."

No one asked Miller to take "sides" in what could potentially be an unknown feud between Diggs and the front office or coaching staff. It's possible that Miller unintentionally revealed his has knowledge about the situation, but then clarified what he meant by this.

"There's definitely not - I'm just saying I'm supportive of Stefon Diggs," Miller said. " ... Stef, he wants to be here. I talked to him two weeks ago. He wants to be here, he wants to win a Super Bowl."

As if there wasn't already confusion before, there's now more questions than answers. But regardless of why Diggs is missing mandatory minicamp, it doesn't appear to be due to any beef with teammates like Miller or quarterback Josh Allen.

Fresh off of signing a new extension last offseason and with financial impossibilities seemingly preventing any sort of trade or release from Buffalo, Diggs' return to the practice field with his teammates seems inevitable before the season starts.

But until then, his teammates will continue to be the voice of support for him for whatever it is he's currently dealing with.
