Bills DB Taylor Rapp Reveals His ‘Puzzle Piece’ Role

The Buffalo Bills signed Taylor Rapp for a one-year deal this offseason.

When Taylor Rapp signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills this offseason, it was with one goal in mind.

"It's all about just winning, getting to the Super Bowl and getting over the hump." Rapp said on One Bills Live

The do-it-all defensive back spent the first four years of his career with the Los Angeles Rams, accumulating 330 tackles and nine interceptions. Rapp won a Super Bowl with Los Angeles in 2021.

While his role may differ from when he was with the Rams, Rapp is said he's willing to do whatever benefits the team.

"I want to be a puzzle piece wherever I can fit," Rapp said. "Whether it's special teams, whether it's in sub-packages, different roles, whatever the coaches ask me to do, all I can do it show that I can be a versatile piece and can be used in multiple ways."

Rapp is coming off of a strong campaign last season with 92 tackles, six passes defended and two interceptions. His play has already caught the eye of Buffalo defensive back Taron Johnson.

"His physicality," Johnson said of Rapp. "That's the first thing I noticed about him is just how physical he is. He's always in the right spot coming down and doing what he needs to do."

Rapp’s versatility alongside Bills safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer will allow a strong Bills defense to throw even more looks at opposing offenses. If the fifth-year defensive back can thrive in different roles, he can make Buffalo's defense even better and more difficult to prepare for.
