Buffalo Bills Favorites To Trade for Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams

Do the Buffalo Bills make the most sense as a trade destination for Las Vegas Raiders receiver DaVante Adams?

With the NFL trade deadlines less than two weeks away, phones are ringing and rumors are swirling around big stars on less-than-stellar teams. Could the Buffalo Bills be the team to make the biggest splash?

Doing so could mean trading for Las Vegas Raiders superstar receiver Davante Adams. The top target is reportedly unhappy with Las Vegas’ lack of success and feels he needs more targets to get the offense off the ground.

From a pure talent standpoint, there may not be a better match available this deadline. Bills receiver Stefon Diggs stands alone in his receiver corps as the only target worth paying attention to, and it has cost Buffalo on more than one occasion.

If any team is going to trade for Adams, Buffalo could have the most to gain. They’re the favorites (+400), according to Bet Online. Given the (opposite) trajectories of the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans, who trail Buffalo with +500 odds, the Bills feel like the best bet.

With that said, there needs to be a lot more smoke before the Adams kindling can be considered a full-blown fire. The money wouldn’t be easy to make work, and the Raiders would be dealing the top asset they can hand a rookie quarterback—an elite receiver.

However, inserting Adams into this offense would make for fireworks and re-establish Buffalo as a true Super Bowl contender. Injuries to the defense and concerns around the non-Diggs supporting cast could render the Bills an early January exit. Adding Adams puts them firmly in the elite tier of NFL offenses.

From dictating the looks they would get from opposing defenses to taking the weight off of Diggs’ shoulders, his impact would be immeasurable. Fewer targets to lackluster targets like receiver Gabe Davis or tight end Dawson Knox would be addition by subtraction, too.

Adams has 39 receptions for 471 yards and three scores on the year. The Raiders are 3-3 but aren’t expected to remain competitive in a gauntlet of an AFC, especially if quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo continues to miss action.

Buffalo already saw Adams live this season, beating Las Vegas 38-10 and allowing Adams to catch six passes for 84 yards. After the game, he expressed frustration with safety Taylor Rapp and the hits he delivered.

Keep an eye on how he fares against a poor Chicago Bears defense on Sunday. Another bad day could make the Bills more likely to make the call, and the Raiders more likely to answer it.
