Bills Sign Ex UCF RB Isaiah Bowser as Undrafted Free Agent
The Buffalo Bills added to their running back room on Saturday night by signing former UCF Knights running back Isaiah Bowser as an undrafted free agent, he shared on Instagram.
The Bills previously invited Bowser to their rookie minicamp taking place this weekend. Now, the running back has earned himself a deal before the camp ends on Sunday.
After transferring to UCF before the 2021 season, Bowser became a focal point for the offense. In two seasons with the Knights, he rushed for 1,502 yards and 25 touchdowns on 364 carries. Bowser was a second-team All-AAC selection as a fifth-year senior in 2022.
Before joining the Knights, Bowser began his college career with the Northwestern Wildcats. He had a strong freshman season in 2018 with 866 yards and six touchdowns rushing, but had under 250 yards in each of the next two campaigns.
SI Draft Bible gave Bowser a seventh-round grade before the draft, describing him as a "one-cut back that utilizes vision and footwork to gain yards."
"Can make defensive linemen miss at the first level, showing an ability to get past the line of scrimmage when plays go array," SI Draft Bible writes. "Strong enough to break arm tackles. Displays fundamental ball-carrying technique, always protecting the ball and maintaining ball security at all costs."
Bowser now joins a very crowded Bills running back room. Buffalo already had James Cook and Nyheim Hines, and then added Damien Harris and Latavius Murray this offseason. The Bills also added another running back as an undrafted free agent, Jordan Mims from Fresno State.
Bowser has a long way to go to make the Bills' final roster, but he will surely give it everything he's got.
