Buffalo Bills LB Von Miller Available vs. Kansas City Chiefs, GM Brandon Beane Talks Investigation

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller isn't expected to be put on the Commissioners Exempt List and is available to play on Sunday at Arrowhead against the Kansas City Chiefs amid an ongoing legal investigation, Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Wednesday.

Miller, 34, was arrested on third-degree felony charges on Thursday, Nov. 30 after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend. He was booked into a Dallas-area jail and was released on a reported $5,000 bond.

Beane said that there's not much he can say about the ongoing investigation, but that the Bills will "follow" what the league does during the process.

"There's not a lot that I can say," Beane said. "Von is here, he'll be a part of the team. And, you know, we'll let the investigation and we'll follow the lead of the NFL from that standpoint."

Beane admitted how unfortunate the situation is and that it's something the Bills are taking seriously. However, he feels confident in Miller's character amid all the negativity that now surrounds the veteran linebacker.

"You never want anyone in your organization, no matter what organization you're in to have an allegation like that," Beane said. "That's a very serious nature and something that ... we're gonna take every precaution with."

"That seems out of character ... The guy that we've known for a year and a half and who we looked into before we signed him gives us that (comfort)."

TMZ's released details of the police report, which said that Miller's assault on the woman featured him "shoving her, pulling her hair, and putting his hands around her neck in a heated altercation."

However, the woman later said that the situation was blown out of proportion.

“We’re fine,” the woman added in an interview with WFAA in Dallas. “Things were blown way out of context. This is actually outrageous.”

This season, Miller made his return from a torn ACL that cut his 2022 short. In eight games this season, he's posted two total tackles.
