Buffalo Bills' Von Miller Showing 'Little Glimpses' of Prime, Says Coach

"I saw little glimpses of the old Von, and I expect that to continue," Buffalo Bills assistant head coach Eric Washington said.

As the Buffalo Bills defense lost DaQuan Jones and Matt Milano for the season during last Sunday's loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, the unit picked up a major addition with the return of Von Miller.

Miller, 34, made his 2023 debut last week after missing the first four games on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List as he was recovering from the torn ACL he suffered on Thanksgiving Day last year against the Detroit Lions.

"Just dipping my toe in the water. Eventually, I'll be able to swim in the deep end with the big kids," Miller said via the team's website about his debut. "But it felt good just being out there with my guys and being back in the motion, it's definitely something I can build on for sure."

Miller's return for the Bills is huge, especially after losing Jones and Milano for the season. And while it will be a slow build for Miller to return to form, there's already signs that he's moving in the right direction.

"Stepping into live NFL action after not being out there for 11 months, even for person of his caliber and resume, that's a tough duty," assistant head coach Eric Washington said via the team's website. "But as the game progressed and he found himself in that atmosphere with the speed of the game, every snap, I saw little glimpses of the old Von, and I expect that to continue."

Miller and the Bills are preparing to face off against the New York Giants at home on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.
