Bills LB Von Miller Provides 'Guaranteed' Injury Update at OTAs

"I'm good, I'm in a great spot," Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller said Tuesday at OTAs. "I feel like I can do way more and I feel like that's a good sign."

Despite having a decade-plus of NFL wear and tear on his body, Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller isn't letting November's ACL tear impact him mentally or physically.

This should hardly come as a surprise for a guy like Miller, who has built a reputation as being one of the most respected figures in the NFL due to his tough, yet gentle approach along with possessing positivity, leadership and a Hall of Fame résumé. And with the Bills needing these qualities and more on the field this season in order to win it all, Miller "guaranteed" a rough recovery timeline at OTAs on Tuesday and didn't rule out playing in Week 1 against the New York Jets.

"The most important thing for me is just to be available when my team really needs me," Miller said. "If that's Week 1, then I'll be happy for that. If that's Week 6, I'll be happy for that. But I guarantee it won't be any later than that. Whatever it takes for me to get to that point, that's what I'll do."

Based on this, Miller would, at the latest, be ready to make his season debut against the New York Giants under the lights of Sunday Night Football at Highmark Stadium on Oct. 15. But of course, it's obviously tough to put any certainty on this with the regular season still four months away.

Still, Miller was beaming with confidence when discussing his recovery. And based on all he's accomplished during his decorated career, it's hard to put an early return past him.

"I'm good, I'm in a great spot," Miller said. "I feel like I can do way more and I feel like that's a good sign."

The Bills will continue OTAs until June 8 before the start of mandatory minicamp on June 13.
