Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Chargers: How to Watch, Preview, Betting Odds
The Buffalo Bills will look to keep their late-season magic alive when they visit the reeling Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night at SoFi Stadium in the NFL's first Peacock-exclusive telecast.
The Bills (8-6) are coming off their dominant 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, which was likely their toughest roadblock left toward potentially winning out and likely securing a playoff spot. Buffalo will visit the Miami Dolphins in what will be a pivotal Week 18 matchup to potentially decide the AFC East, though the Bills have already shown they can beat Miami with ease after winning the first meeting 48-20 in Week 4.
While coach Sean McDermott and quarterback Josh Allen made it clear that this is the NFL and there's little to gain out of underestimating an opponent, the Chargers are one of the worst teams in the league at this point in the season. L.A. fired coach Brandon Staley following a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15, meaning Saturday will mark the first game at the helm for interim head coach Giff Smith.
"I can't tell you what's going on in their minds right now with the coaching change and this and that, but I can tell you one thing: that they're gonna be ready to play come Saturday night," Allen said.
However, the Chargers played last Thursday and will have had more time to prepare. Playing the game at SoFi Stadium, though it tends to get overrun by opposing fans, will at least be more comfortable for the inexperienced quarterback Easton Stick, who would certainly choose making his second-career start in L.A. than in frigid Buffalo.
The Chargers will be without star receiver and this season's current catch leader Keenan Allen on an offense that will continue to be without quarterback Justin Herbert for the rest of the season.
All-Pro defensive end Joey Bosa will also be out on Saturday.
