Bills WATCH: QB Josh Allen Plays Cornerback at OTAs

QB Josh Allen tries his hand at his DB cover skills, but not even his lengthy reach can prevent the completion to a UDFA rookie named Jordan Mims at Bills OTAs.

A 6-5, 240-pound cornerback showed up at Buffalo Bills OTAs this week, for at least a moment, before revealing himself to be a 6-5, 240-pound athlete who is better-suited to other roles.

QB Josh Allen tried his hand at his DB cover skills this week, but not even his lengthy reach could prevent the completion to a UDFA rookie named Jordan Mims.... and by the way, we don't want to skip over the work of Mims here. He makes an over-the-shoulder catch against Allen after (easily?) getting some separation, and the catch is attracting some well-deserved viral attention for the play.

But not as much attention as Allen is gaining for trying his hand at cornerback during Tuesday’s practice. And of course that is part of the job of being so highly-paid and so high-profile ... which means social media is going to observe it the way social media does - with jokes about Allen's apparent romantic ties with Hollywood actress Hailie Steinfeld.

In short order at the Tuesday workout, NFL MVP candidate Allen of course spent most of his time at the stuff he is better at - throwing to receivers. … Oh, and maybe being the apple of DeAndre Hopkins’ eye as the free agent wide receiver - who has mentioned Allen as a top-five guy he would like to hook up with - goes about the process of searching for his new home.
