Derrick Henry Trade: Odds Have Buffalo Bills as Top-3 Landing Spot for Titans RB

Championship contenders are lined up, according to the odds, for a Derrick Henry trade. And yup, the Buffalo Bills are in that mix.

It has become clear that the Tennessee Titans are "shopping'' star running back Derrick Henry as they approach the trade block with a way to strip down their pricy roster.

And while trusted NFL voice Michael Silver of Bally Sports reports that he does not expect the Buffalo Bills to be involved in the pursuit for the perennial rushing champ contender, oddsmakers just happen to disagree.

Per PointsBet Sportsbook, the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals are the top two favorites to acquire Henry. Each AFC team has +400 odds, which equate to a 20-percent implied probability.

And next up? A trio of championship contenders in the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and - yup, the Buffalo Bills - each team having +500 odds.

Henry, 29, would, if he departs Tennessee, give the Titans $6.26 million in cap space. We can make the argument that we'd rather have Henry than have $6 million, but ...

If that's the way the Titans want to go, the next step would be how his new team pays him. Under the terms of his current contract, Henry is scheduled to just make $10.5 million in base salary in 2023. But ... this is the final year of his deal, making it likely that he will be seeking a new deal with his new team.

How affordably can Buffalo - with Henry on the roster offering a way to "legally cheat'' - take advantage

Henry remains one of the league's top running backs and overall players after finishing second in the league in both rushing yards (1,538) and rushing yards per game (96.1), first in carries (349) and tied for second in rushing touchdowns (13).

Buffalo knows the damage he can cause. And while this isn't a driving force, Buffalo probably doesn't want to see him in a Dolphins, Bengals or Chiefs uniform. ... where we don't need an oddsmaker to recognize the impact he'd make.
