Travis Kelce Responds to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen Taunting Penalty: '(Bleeping) Wack!'
The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have formed one of the more interesting rivalries in the AFC, and will get a chance to add another chapter when they meet at Arrowhead for the fifth time since 2021 on Dec. 10.i
But until then, Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has the back of Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
On his latest New Heights podcast episode, Kelce didn't hold back when discussing the taunting penalty Allen picked up on the two-yard touchdown run he had in the first quarter of Sunday's 24-18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
After freezing the defense with a fake hand-off to running back James Cook, Allen ran toward the right pylon, pump-faked Bengals safety Nick Scott, and then pointed at Scott while smiling his way into the end zone.
“One of the weakest taunting calls you’ve ever seen? Probably,” Kelce said. “I’m not sure if I’ve seen too many of them... I think it’s bogus. I’m on Josh’s team on this. This is bull****.”
Allen was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. That was on Buffalo's first drive of the game. The Bills wouldn't find the end zone again until their last possession of the night, as the team was unable to back up Allen's competitive banter.
“Who is struggling right now, is my guy Josh Allen,” Kelce said. “And he was struggling with this taunting penalty. Man, it’s f***** up, man. You can’t point at a guy? ... This is so f****** wack.”
Allen has had an MVP-like season statistically, but the Bills have been inconsistent en route to a 5-4 start. If the playoffs began today, they'd be on the outside looking in.
Allen will hardly be losing any piece of his competitive edge after one taunting flag, but you can bet he'll make sure not te o cost his team a free 15 yards next time.
The Bills host the Denver Broncos (3-5) on Monday night at 8:15 p.m. ET.
