Could Tyreek Hill Be Suspended from Dolphins for Assault? NFL Investigating

The NFL has opened an investigation into the behavior of Tyreek Hill, who is being accused of assault ... with Pro Football Talk going so far as to theorize that if the league punishes the Miami Dolphins star wide receiver under the guidelines of its Personal Conduct Policy, the penalty could be especially harsh because of Hill's history with an assault issue.

Hill, 29, has admitted to being guilty of domestic violence as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, an incident that featured him choking and punching his then-pregnant girlfriend back in 2015.

One NFL source suggests to BillsCountry.com at SI that PFT's report is "way premature.'' But as it stands, Hill is accused of hitting the back of the head of a 57-year-old man who was working at the Haulover Marina in Miami on June 18.

Hill is also under police investigation as a result of the conflict, which allegedly featured the employee trying to keep Hill from illegal fishing, and also included Hill offering the worker $200 as a way of making amends for the physical contact.

"I can buy you and the boat,'' Hill - who is playing on a four-year, $120 million deal - allegedly told the captain of the charter, who tried to intervene.

"The NFL has officially requested video from police of the alleged Tyreek Hill incident," Fox Sports 640 in Florida reports. "The video must be released to the league and others at some point as it’s public record."

Andy Slater also added that the NFL has apparently asked to interview "every police officer and detective involved in the Tyreek Hill investigation."

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel obtained a supplemental report from the Miami-Dade Police on Wednesday noting that there is video evidence of the conflict.

The “dispute began to escalate,” the police report states, as the boat captain told authorities that Hill “became enraged and attempted to enter the boat to cause him bodily harm but was held back by unknown associates.”
