'Reckless' Josh Allen Is 'Giving Away Games!' ESPN Compares Buffalo Bills QB to Brett Favre

The NFL is a Quarterback League. If you and your team do well, you get to cash the biggest paychecks, date the loveliest cheerleaders (or Hollywood starlets) and grab the Super Bowl trophy.

But if you and your team do not do well? You catch an equal amount of heat ... as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are learning.

“At some point,'' said Mike Greenberg on ESPN's Get Up'' after the awful "Monday Night Football'' home loss to the Broncos in Week 10, “Josh Allen is giving away games.''

Allen's critics are now many as Buffalo, a preseason Super Bowl hopeful, is now 5-5 and outside the NFL playoff picture looking in.

Is it all Allen's fault? Of course not. The QB is responsible for many things within a football team, but a team's inability to block, tackle or count up to 12 on special teams are not among them.

Allen was (dis)credited on Monday with two interceptions and a sloppy lost fumble. He now leads the NFL in passing TDs with 19 (good!) but also in interceptions with 11 (bad!) ... and it all follows up a 2022 in which Allen was tied for the second-most interceptions, and adds to a career that has seen him cough up more turnovers (94) than any other quarterback in the NFL since he was drafted in 2018.

BREAKING: Bills Fire Coach Ken Dorsey

Remember the embarrassing Week 1 loss to the Jets in which turnovers were central, and Allen's reaction?

“Same (bleep),” Allen said. “Same place. Different day.”

And so it goes, with Greenberg's comp an interesting one. ... a recognition both of Allen's massive talent and his damning flaw.

"He reminds me of Brett Favre,'' the TV host said, citing the Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer. "Brett Favre might have been the most talented quarterback of his generation, but he lost a lot of games with recklessness and mistakes.”
