Cons

  • Experienced, but didn't face the toughest of competition.
  • Had a chance at the Senior Bowl to show up against tougher competition but got hurt.
  • Doesn't have the size or length to be an NFL tackle, so will be kicked inside.
  • While his power looks good on tape, it could be a matter of the competition.
  • Balance and pad level are problematic.
  • Needs to come to balance before engaging on the move.
  • Quick to raise his pad level and open up his chest to defenders.
  • Needs to clean up his pass sets and movement to get into his sets.
  • Needs to improve his hands.
  • Hands have a bad habit of dropping low and being lackadaisical.

Overview

Fisher has the experience, but it mostly came at tackle. He will be pushed inside in the NFL, as he doesn't mean multiple minimums with his measurements. It will be interesting to see if he does have the power to last in gap schemes or if he looked better there due to the level of competition that he faced.

His ideal fit is for an outside zone scheme, where his athleticism, foot quickness, and lateral agility can be made to shine. While he could start right away, it may be better to have him as a depth piece for a year as you develop the technical issues he has in his game.

Fit with Broncos

Sean Payton has a mixture in his scheme, and a player like Fisher could work. However, for the Denver Broncos, Fisher may be better suited sitting for a year as he works in the weight room and takes to coaching. This is a team that needs to overhaul its offensive line while adding developmental pieces, which is where Fisher does come in. If the power he showed on tape was legit and wasn't due to the competition, the Fisher would be an even better fit for the mixture of concepts Payton runs.
