Broncos Announce 2023 Preseason Schedule
Days after unveiling the 2023 regular-season schedule, the Denver Broncos have followed suit with their three-game preseason docket, released Wednesday.
The Broncos will open exhibition play Friday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. MT in Arizona to take on the Cardinals. From there, Denver will remain on the road, facing the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m. MT.
Denver will close the preseason period at home by hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. MT. The contest is likely to be preceded by joint practices between the teams.
“The goal is to have a joint practice with the Rams," head coach Sean Payton said during last week's rookie minicamp. "[Rams HC] Sean [McVay] and I have talked. "Obviously, the ownership groups are connected, along with [Rams GM] Les [Sneed] and [Broncos GM] George [Paton]. There has been no announcement made, but our hope and goal is to have a chance to practice here. I wasn’t here last year, but I know [the team] did it with Dallas. Our goal is to have a joint practice with Los Angeles and play that third [preseason] game.”
Payton has also confirmed, in a stark deviation from his predecessor, that Denver's starters and key players will suit up this summer.
“We are going to play all of them," he said in March. "In the preseason? Absolutely we are. That’s the preseason.”
