Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy Carted Off with Apparent Hamstring Issue
Denver Broncos top wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was carted from the practice field Thursday after sustaining an apparent hamstring injury.
Per NFL Network's James Palmer, Jeudy came up gimpy on an end-around during the team's joint session with the Los Angeles Rams. The fourth-year wideout immediately clutched his upper leg and was "visibly upset," unable to walk off under his own power.
"The cart came out to get him," Palmer added. "He had trouble getting on in and teammates came over before he was taken inside. He needed help getting off the cart and getting inside."
Jeudy is no stranger to injury, having yet to complete a full NFL campaign since entering the league as a 2020 first-round pick. He missed seven games in 2021 due to a high-ankle sprain and two games last season with a strained ankle muscle.
Broncos coach Sean Payton will update Jeudy's status at the conclusion of practice.
Once considered Denver's biggest strength, the receiving corps has become a veritable weakness with Jeudy ailing and Tim Patrick (torn Achilles) and Jalen Virgil (torn meniscus) already out for the 2023 season.
Second-round rookie WR Marvin Mims would replace Jeudy in the starting lineup if the latter is down for an extended period.
