Roughly two weeks after his minicamp tryout, the Denver Broncos signed former Tennessee Titans tight end Tommy Hudson, 9NEWS' Mike Klis reported Wednesday.

Running back Jacques Patrick was cut in a corresponding roster move, per Klis.

Undrafted out of Arizona State in 2020, Hudson spent his first three NFL seasons with the Titans, collecting three catches for 31 yards across five appearances and 65 offensive snaps. He was released by the team last October.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound TE played five seasons for the Sun Devils following a true freshman redshirt. A blocking specialist, Hudson made 26 starts, totaling 205 yards on 25 receptions.

"It’s fun to catch the ball and move the chains, but physically dominating my opponent is more fulfilling to me," Hudson said as a rookie in Tennessee. "You can see the quit in his eyes. That’s the most enjoyable aspect of football to me. Anyone can go catch a wide open pass and pick up a first down. To specifically take control of another man and watch him quit in the middle of a game, there’s no feeling quite like that."

Hudson, 26, is the third such tight end brought aboard this offseason by Broncos head coach Sean Payton, joining Chris Manhertz and Adam Trautman. The room also includes projected starter Greg Dulcich, fourth-year pro Albert Okwuegbunam, and undrafted rookie Nate Adkins.
