Report: Colts in 'Extensive' Trade Talks for Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy
Jerry Jeudy could soon be donning a different shade of blue.
Per beat writer Destin Adams, the Indianapolis Colts have engaged in "extensive trade discussions" for the Denver Broncos wide receiver, a likely candidate to be dealt ahead of the Oct. 31 league deadline.
"No deal has been finalized or agreed to at this time but this has progressed beyond exploratory conversations," Adams reported Thursday.
The 15th overall pick of the 2020 draft, Jeudy is in the midst of a disappointing campaign relative to expectations. Through six games, he ranks third on the team with 222 receiving yards across 29 catches, averaging a career-low 11.1 yards per reception. He hasn't scored a touchdown since Dec. 11, 2022.
His frustration has bubbled over in recent weeks — from virtual spats with franchise legends to on-field conflict with former NFL greats.
"He’s dying to break out, and part of it is us and me giving him those opportunities," Broncos coach Sean Payton said Wednesday. "Those are good problems to have, and we’ll work on that.”
At 1-5, Denver purportedly is in "sell mode" and, with a potential rebuild on the horizon, might opt to send Jeudy to greener pastures (read: the highest bidder). In addition to Indy, the Carolina Panthers are also said to have interest in acquiring the mercurial 24-year-old.
Who, for his part, is apathetic on the matter.
“Trade me or not trade me, it doesn’t matter," Jeudy told reporters Thursday. "At the end of the day, I'm still gonna be me.”
