Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco has suffered a herniated disc in his neck, according to head coach Vic Fangio. Flacco will reportedly miss Week 9.

Following the team's loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Flacco admitted that he has been dealing with a neck strain for a couple of weeks. Flacco could be seen on Sunday receiving treatment on the sideline by trainers.

“I’ve been dealing with it for a couple of weeks, there’s just a little strain in there," Flacco said. "So, just trying to get it worked on and keeping it as loose as I can.”

Backup Brandon Allen will start in Flacco's place next week against the Cleveland Browns.  Flacco's timetable to return is currently unknown. We will update this article when more information comes to light.

The Flacco injury figures to officially start the clock on the Drew Lock era in Denver. First thing's first: Lock has to practice.
