Report: Broncos TE Greg Dulcich Set to Miss 'Multiple Weeks'

Another offensive weapon down.

On the heels of losing safety Caden Sterns for the remainder of the season, the Denver Broncos were dealt more bad injury news.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with a hamstring issue sustained during Sunday's loss to the Raiders — the same hamstring that held him out of seven games amid his 2022 rookie campaign.

"Broncos will take it slow," Schefter said of the plan for Dulcich, which presumably could include a stint on short-term injured reserve.

The team's TE2, Dulcich went down in the first half against Las Vegas, finishing the contest with two catches for 22 yards. His absence further weakened a supporting cast that was already down wide receivers Jerry Jeudy (inactive), Tim Patrick (out for the year), and Jalen Virgil (out for the year).

Starter Adam Trautman picked up the slack in Dulcich's stead, leading all Broncos pass-catchers in receptions (5) while notching the second-most receiving yards (34). The offense collectively averaged 4.5 yards per play and totaled 166 air yards in the 17-16 defeat.

"Greg is definitely a threat in the passing game and the running game, but I think passing game—what he can do," quarterback Russell Wilson said in his post-game press conference. "When he went down, all of these other guys stepped up—Trautman stepped up. I think he’s such a playmaker. Dulcich, there’s so much he can do. Obviously if you have Dulcich in and Jerry, I mean they’re—I still think we should have won that game.”

With Dulcich on the shelf for the foreseeable future, the Broncos will continue relying upon Trautman as well as blocking specialist Chris Manhertz and undrafted rookie Nate Adkins, who was a healthy scratch in Week 1. It's also possible the club promotes TE Lucas Krull from the practice squad ahead of its upcoming home tilt versus Washington.
