Broncos CEO Hints at Major Upgrades to Team Headquarters
The Denver Broncos have had their headquarters in the current location at Dove Valley — in Englewood — since 1990 and have held training camps there since 2003. While the Broncos have owned the buildings, the new owners purchased the land in early September 2022.
Less than a year later, one of the Broncos' joint-owners seemed to hint that the team's facilities could be on the move, though that doesn't seem likely. On Wednesday, Broncos CEO Greg Penner met with the media, and he talked about the team facilities.
"We love this location. We own the land," Penner said two days before Broncos training camp. "This is where we would like to be. That being said, this building is a little small."
Penner also talked about multiple changes the Broncos would like to make. Most of it would be connecting buildings while expanding the building that is too small.
As the new Walton/Penner ownership group has dished out $100 million for stadium renovations, which are expected to be done by the start of the season, more money will likely be invested to expand and build the team facilities.
Expanding the Broncos' headquarters building, the weight room, and indoor fields is likely on the horizon. As the owners recently bought the land, they won't want to move it. The only thing that could cause the Broncos to move is if their expansion plans can't be done due to space limitations.
The Walton/Penner group is not afraid of spending money for the team, which is why having such wealthy ownership is so nice. They're doing everything they can to improve things around the Broncos, and upgrading and expanding the facilities at Dove Valley could be high on the priority list.
Hopefully, the Broncos' new owners can get it all done and won't look to relocate team headquarters. After all, they love the location, and they own the land.
