Report: Broncos QB Russell Wilson Involved in Golf Accident

'DangeRuss' indeed.
In this story:

Russell Wilson was reportedly involved in a minor accident last week at Arrowhead Golf Course. The golf cart the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback was in reportedly hit a bunker and flipped over.

Danger is his middle name (and Twitter handle), but thankfully, Wilson was unharmed. Images of the incident have hit Twitter.

Fore Play on Twitter reported that Wilson was not driving the cart, and provided further context.

“They were reversing because the cart locked up and were too close to the edge and it tumbled in. Their teammates ran over to pick it up and push it out of the bunker."

Oops. Fortunately, the Broncos' $245 million man was not injured. Bullet dodged. Crisis averted.

The Broncos kicked off Phase 1 of their offseason training program last week under new head coach Sean Payton. Payton's focus is on strengthening and conditioning his team for the war of attrition of the coming football season.

Payton's reported belief is that the previous coaching regime in Denver was too soft on the Broncos, and it led not only to a lackluster product on the field, but that it perhaps even opened the team up to the increased vagaries of the injury bug.

The Broncos are getting their bodies in shape, and while they're at it, Payton has instituted a media blackout. Unlike the tradition in Denver for the past decades, there will be no post-workout press conferences with coaches and players.

Payton won't allow media access until he's mandated to, reportedly, which isn't until May 23. Intrepid Broncos reporters will have to wait until then to get Wilson's reaction on flipping the golf cart.

If not for Payton's media moratorium, I probably wouldn't have written this up. It's slim Broncos pickings right about now.
