Senior Bowl Stock Report | Day 3: Big-Name Prospects Plummet
The Senior Bowl practices are now complete. There were some big-name prospects this year, and most had a great week of practice.
Others didn't, and with the final day of practice coming and going, some of those prospects failed to salvage the week. With the Denver Broncos holding the No. 12 overall pick and on the prowl for a franchise quarterback and many other roster holes to fill, let's break down Day 3 of practice.
Who stood out for the better or worse?
Risers
Jamari Thrash | WR | Louisville | American Team
Thrash was the best player on the day. He was hard to cover without the defense drawing penalties in team drills or one-on-ones. What made it such a good day was he won in every way you want to see a receiver win.
Luke McCaffrey | WR | Rice | National Team
There are nuances with McCaffrey that he needs to learn as a receiver, but the potential is there. He ran some good routes and made some good catches. After one touchdown catch, he spent a lot of time talking with one of the Broncos coaches that were there, which could be nothing considering the McCaffrey lineage in Denver. But it could be something, too.
Isaiah Adams | IOL | Illinois | National Team
Adams has had a quietly good week, but the final practice day was much less quiet. He had wins everywhere he lined up, showing positional versatility, strength, and solid athleticism.
Andrew Raym | IOL | Oklahoma | American Team
It was a good day for the center prospect who had struggled in the previous two days. Raym showed a good ability to drop and anchor against power, which hadn't been there.
Braden Fiske | IDL | FSU | American Team
Fiske had one of the better weeks of practice and got better every day. He was nearly unblockable on the final day of practice, giving blockers fits with his quick first step.
Jarvis Brownlee | CB | Louisville | American Team
Brownlee stood out daily, but he took it to another level to close the week. There are technical issues, but the physical ability and athleticism are there.
Evan Williams | S | Oregon | National Team
Williams doesn't do the best with range, so working in red-zone situations helped him but gave him less field to cover.
Cole Bishop | S | Utah | National Team
Bishop is a player who should do better in the actual Senior Bowl game, but based on the practices, he could stand out. He's a physical safety who doesn't have great range, so working red zone on the final day, making it a short field, was a significant boost to showing what he could do.
Fallers
Michael Pratt | QB | Tulane | American Team
Pratt is working alongside quarterbacks who have no questions about their arm talent, which has diminished him somewhat because he's not in that same tier. Plus, he had issues securing the ball off the snap from under center throughout the week, including three during the final practice.
After failing to stand out during Day 1 and Day 2, Pratt punctuated his week with a whimper. His stock wasn't improved in Mobile, and it may have been hurt.
Devontez Walker | WR | North Carolina | National Team
Walker needed a rebound day after multiple drops in the first couple of days. That didn't happen. His routes were still telegraphed, and the drops were still a factor.
Jacob Cowing | WR | Arizona | National Team
Cowing had a solid day of practice until he had to be carted off the field. Hopefully, it isn't a serious injury that will severely impact the draft process or have a long-term impact on him.
Delmar Glace | OL | Maryland | American Team
There may not have been an offensive lineman with a rougher week than Glaze. The first two days saw him lose a lot, but there were some wins. On the final day of practice, he was bullied by the defense, and it didn't matter who was going against him.
Jalen Crumedy | DL | Mississippi State | American Team
One thing you never want to come away questioning during practices is effort, and multiple reps caused that for Crumedy on the final day. He started the week strong but seemed to take a step back each day after.
Willie Drew | CB | Virginia State | National Team`
Willie Drew was up and down for the first two practices, but for the final day, he, the opposing receivers, had his number in one-on-ones.
