Broncos WR Tim Patrick Carted Off with Non-Contact Injury

Not again ...
In this story:

Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick sustained a potentially severe, non-contact injury during Monday's padded training camp practice.

Patrick was working a seven-on-seven drill when he "went down almost immediately and didn’t try to get up," according to reports. He threw his helmet and gloves in frustration as teammates, including quarterback Russell Wilson, gathered around for support.

Patrick was carted off the field and required crutches to enter the locker room for examination. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos' medical staff was looking at his right "foot and ankle area."

The apparent leg injury comes nearly one year to the day (Aug. 2) after Patrick sustained a torn left ACL that caused him to miss the entire 2022 season. He returned on schedule and had been enjoying a solid start to camp under new head coach Sean Payton.

The seventh-year pro — who's caught 143 passes for 2,009 yards and 14 touchdowns across 55 career games in Denver — was primed for a starting WR role aside Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.

His absence would push the likes of Marvin Mims, Marquez Callaway, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey up the depth chart.

Payton will provide an update on Patrick's status at the conclusion of practice.
