According to Report, Two UDFA's Make the Browns
According to a report from Cleveland.Com's Mary Kay-Cabot, two undrafted free agent players have secured their spot on the Cleveland Browns initial 53-man roster.
Both safety Ronnie Hickman and linebacker Mohamoud Diabate have made the 53-man initial roster. Having two UDFA's make the team is quite an accomplishment for a roster as talented top to bottom as the Browns. This is a major win for Andrew Berry and his scouting department who were able to find the unearthed talent without utilizing precious draft capital.
Hickman looked fast and rangy playing in the back of the defense all preseason. He completed the preseason with 3 interceptions and looked good getting to ball carriers for tackles.
Diabate also was able to force turnovers with a couple of nice punch outs . He looked fast and played instinctually in filling run gaps, while also providing issues for opposing offenses with his length defending passes.
It will be interesting to see how them making the team impacts their respective position groups. For players like D'Anthony Bell and Matthew Adams their path to making it just became more difficult. Make sure to follow along with our cutdown tracker below.
