Amari Cooper Believes His Room Is Ready For Seahawks Secondary
This Cleveland Browns wide receiver room has had a hard time getting their footing throughout the first part of this season. The Browns' offense is currently ranked 31st in the league in passing offense at 171.7 yards per game.
The uncertainty at quarterback is the main culprit of this lack of consistent success. Getting things going this week in Seattle against their very talented secondary will be a tough task.
When asked about what impresses Amari Cooper about the Seahawks secondary, he had this to say,
"They have some good players in the secondary, players that have our attention... as long as we go out there and do our jobs, we will be fine. But, they are playing really good football."
The Seahawks come into action with the 21st-ranked passing defense in all of the NFL. Although their ranking is below average, they have a collection of guys on the backend who have game-changing abilities.
The two safeties that you will primarily see are Julian Love and veteran Quandre Diggs. Combined, Love and Diggs have 55 tackles, six passes defensed, and one interception. The third safety is a name you may recognize, Jamaal Adams. The savvy veteran has fought injuries all year but is a game-changer when he is in.
Keep an eye out for these cornerbacks. The trio of Tre Brown, Riq Woolen and rookie Devon Witherspoon definitely should have your attention. Brown leads the team in interceptions with two while Witherspoon leads the team in pass breakups with eight. Both of them have returned interceptions for touchdowns.
One thing that you will notice with Witherspoon is that he is not afraid of contact. When he finds himself in the mix, he will deliver a hit and the Browns will feel him.
This secondary has big play guys all over it. While their yards per game isn't something to write home about, one game is. Just two weeks ago this secondary held the high-powered Bengals passing attack to 185 yards and kept Jamaar Chase to 80 yards on six catches.
They have the talent, and they have the Browns' attention.
