Bengals QB Joe Burrow Could be on Brink of Resetting Quarterback Market

Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow could see a massive extension come together this off-season.
In this story:

When the Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a $230 million guaranteed contract, many opinions were thrown out there on Cleveland's decision. That decision could soon look like a bargain at $46 million if Watson can return to himself in 2023. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to begin contract talks on a new deal that very well could exceed Aaron Rodgers' yearly amount of $50 million, according to Ian Rapoport.

Burrow is joined by Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert for guys who could sign deals that would jump to the top of the quarterback market. Both quarterbacks were a part of the talented 2020 NFL Draft, and both are undoubtedly in the top 10 for their position.

This season, Burrow is on the brink of his second straight Super Bowl appearance as the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes stand in the way. Burrow threw for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions this year.

Soon enough the quarterback market could spike north of $50 million a year, especially with the cap number expected to go up. Teams who have their quarterback in place for a few years are in luck.
