Denzel Ward Hints He Will Play In Playoff Game vs. Texans

Ward posted a 10 second video that certainly appears to suggest he’ll suit up Saturday in the playoffs despite suffering an injury in practice this week

With one single 10 second video posted to X, Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward quieted a lot of concerns about whether he’ll be available to play Saturday against the Texans.

Ward, who suffered a knee injury in practice Thursday that made him questionable for the playoff game, posted the video Friday morning behind a song with the lyrics, “Let’s get it.”

A player certainly wouldn’t post such a video if they had any doubt about suiting up.

Ward’s status will be locked in once the Browns post their inactive list 90 minutes ahead of the 4:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday, and Ward staying active despite the injury would be huge for the Browns.

Ward, who was voted to his third Pro Bowl, has been perhaps the most reliable player in the Browns secondary this season, totaling 11 pass breakups — the sixth-straight season he’s eclipsed double digits — and two interceptions, which has fueled the Browns toward maintaining the top defensive rank in the league.

The Browns need Ward as they attempt to slow down Texans top receiver Nico Collins, who benefited most from the tremendous rookie season from C.J. Stroud. Collins, who finished eighth in the league with 1,297 receiving yards, was limited to four catches for 18 yards when the Browns played the Texans in Week 16, but Stroud didn’t play due to a concussion.

With Stroud, Houston could be much more difficult to stop, but the presence of Ward will undoubtedly give the Browns defense a better chance to prevail.
