Browns Host Darrell Henderson Jr. on Visit

The Cleveland Browns, still looking at potential running back options to fill out the roster, brought in free agent Darrell Henderson for a visit.
In this story:

As the Browns continue to mull over potential backup running back options, the team hosted former Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. today in Berea.

Henderson was selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Rams. His rookie year, Henderson played in 13 games where he tallied 39 carries for 147 yards.

In a bigger role during his second season with the Rams, the former Memphis University product amassed 624 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns on 138 carries.

Then in his third year with the team, Henderson backed his sophomore season with yet another productive year where he had a career-high 149 carries for 688 yards and 5 touchdowns.

In 2020, the Rams selected running back Cam Akers in the second round of the NFL Draft, thus creating a congested backfield in Los Angeles.

The Rams ended up cutting ties with Henderson in the middle of the NFL season last year, where he was then claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, Henderson never saw a snap in Jacksonville and is now a free-agent.

Henderson is a Super Bowl champion and has NFL experience. He's still a young, at 25-years-old and could find his way to Cleveland to join Nick Chubb in their running back room.

In addition to Henderson, the Browns also hosted James Madison undrafted free agent quarterback Todd Centeio for a workout on Wednesday.
