Source: Browns Hosting Florida Gators Defensive Tackle Gervon Dexter on Top 30 Visit Today

Florida Gators defensive tackle Gervon Dexter is in Cleveland Friday for a Top 30 visit with the Browns as the 2023 NFL Draft nears, a source said.
In this story:

Gervon Dexter, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound interior defensive tackle has been generating buzz around the league and will be meeting with the Browns today in Cleveland on a Top 30 visit.

I'm told Dexter was previously in Dallas on a Top 30 visit with the Cowboys on Thursday, spent the night in Cleveland and will be with the Browns today.

This is not Cleveland's first time meeting with the prospect during the pre-draft process. The Browns had a formal meeting with Dexter in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, and also met with Dexter in late-March.

At the NFL Combine, Dexter opened a lot of eyes after putting together a strong performance in athletic testing, which included a 4.88 40-yard dash and 31-inch vertical jump.

Last season at Florida, the now 21-year-old Dexter tallied 55 total tackles, two sacks, a pass defended and an interception.

The Browns are looking to add to their defensive line, specifically to the interior. Since bringing in new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz earlier this off-season, the Browns have brought in Dalvin Tomlinson, Trysten Hill and Maurice Hurst through free agency in an attempt to bolster the position group.

However, the Browns are still expected to make at least one other move to the defensive tackle group this off-season, whether that's through free agency or the draft.

The Browns also had free agent defensive tackle Al Woods in for a visit earlier in the month of April, however, no deal has taken place up to this point.

Dexter is a realistic option for the Browns with one of their two draft picks in the third-round of the 2023 NFL Draft or potentially a bit later.
