Cleveland Browns are taking a step toward figuring out who is going to run their defense for the 2023 season and beyond. The team is interviewing former Miami Dolphins head coach and current Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Brian Flores for their open defensive coordinator position.

The Browns are looking to replace Joe Woods, as Cleveland let him go following the end of their season which was quite disappointing. Flores is an important interview, as it's his first of reported multiple he has. He was recently with the Steelers, so it would be a negative for the Steelers to lose his presence.

The Browns will go through their interviews with the various candidates, but I expect that Flores is near the top at the end of the hiring cycle. He may have legal issues going on with the NFL, but he is qualified to run a defense and that is exactly what the Browns need.
