Browns Interviewing Former Assistant Coach For Offensive Coordinator Opening
The Browns are in the market for an offensive coordinator after a shakeup by Kevin Stefanski's to his offensive staff.
While the team has yet to announce any changes, multiple reports this week reveal that Stefanski parted ways with running back coach Stump Mitchell, tight end coach T.C. Mcartney, and OC Alex Van Pelt. Now he'll have to move quickly through an often hot and heavy hiring cycle to fill those roles ahead of spring workouts.
On Thursday, a report from Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports indicates the Browns are interviewing Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson for their OC vacancy.
Dickerson has spent the last three seasons on Pete Carroll's staff overseeing the offesnive line, after spending the previous nine seasons with the Rams organization in the same role. The Tuft University grad has spent 18 years coaching in the NFL and actually has history with the Browns. From 2009-2010 he served as Cleveland's defensive quality control coach, then assistant o-line coach under then head man Eric Mangini.
Dickerson has also spent time with the Patriots and Jets, winning a Super Bowl with New England in 2004.
The new of Dickinson's interview comes after reports of Panthers assistant head coach/running back coach Duce Staley for their running back coach position. Cleveland also reportedly received permission to interview Titans outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow for their defensive line coaching role.
The organization is clearly working quickly to fill their coaching vacancies as quickly a possible as Stefanski reshapes his staff for the 2024 season.
