Browns Named as Dark Horse for Super Bowl
On NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, analyst and co-host Kyle Brandt listed the Cleveland Browns as his dark horse team with a realistic chance to win the Super Bowl.
He pointed to the Browns having quarterback Deshaun Watson as being the main reason. He said, “here’s the facts- the last time it was a real situation with real football for the Browns quarterback , he was a top-five guy. Not top-ten, not top-twelve... top-five, superstar-fantastic.”
He went on further, “the Browns may have one of the top quarterbacks, they may have the league’s best running back, they may have the league’s best pass-rusher, they have a coach of the year, they have won in the playoffs-at least a few years ago.”
If the Browns can tread water in a tough AFC and AFC North division, and if Watson can resemble who he was, they can win out in the AFC. He added, "the Browns being the AFC team would be an unbelievable thing, and the Bills, Bengals, Ravens, Steelers kind of pick each other off."
He summarized his argument with a scenario that fans would love, "If the Browns are like we figured this out under Stefanski, and Myles Garrett is the Defensive Player of the Year, Z'Darius Smith is in the conversation, we are going to rough people up, I think it's the Browns."
