Browns Players Sing Kevin Stefanski's Praises After Win Over Jaguars
Regardless of how the fan base feels about Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, inside the walls of the team's CrossCountry Mortgage Facility in Berea, and down in the bowels of Cleveland Browns stadium, Stefanski has nothing but support.
Don't believe it? Well, look no further than one of the newest members of the Browns, safety Juan Thornhill.
After being scratched just minutes before kickoff of Cleveland's matchup with the Jaguars, due to a calf injury, Thornhill was reserved to watching his team's 31-28 win from the sideline. Hours after the victory, the Super Bowl champion took to X to share his support for Stefanski.
Objectively speaking, Stefanski has done a pretty remarkable job keep his team on track given the exuberant number of injuries they've withstood. The injury epidemic started Week One when the team watched starting right tackle Jack Conklin go down with a season-ending knee injury. One week later, the same thing happened to star running back Nick Chubb. From there, Cleveland has lost starting QB Deshaun Watson, while playing four different QBs this season.
Starting left tackle Jedrick Wills is on the IR currently, while reserve right tackle Dawand Jones missed Week 14 with a knee injury as well and has been in-and-out of the lineup this season.. The constant inter-changing of players has made it nearly impossible to get into any sort of consistent rhythm, but, against all odds the Browns are 8-5 and squarely in the playoff is the season ended today.Â
Thronhill isn't the only member of the defense lining up to sign Stefanski's praises. Star pass rusher Myles Garrett expressed similar sentiments regarding his head coach during his postgame press conference.
"With everything that’s changed throughout the year, pieces moving in and out, switched around, he’s done a hell of a job and we’ve answered the call," Grrett said. "He’s put us in different positions to make up for some of the injuries and different calls and schemes that we’re trying to adjust to, but it goes hand in hand with us trying to play off of what we’re being put in, but he’s putting us in a lot of favorable positions and he’s coaching his ass off.”
Joe Flacco Reacts To Being Named Browns Starter For Remainder Of Season
The proof is in the pudding. There's been a lot more good than bad from the Browns head man. Against all odds, he's got this team believing they can win any game no matter who is starting at quarterback or which latest injuries has crippled one phase of the game or another.
Who knows where Cleveland would be this season without him.
