Browns Provide Update On Severity Of Myles Garrett's Shoulder Injury
Breathe Cleveland. After Myles Garrett was spotted in a sling following the team's loss to Denver, head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed on Monday that the Browns star pass rusher didn't suffer any structural damage to his shoulder and was considered day-to-day.
Garrett explained to reporters postgame that he had felt a pop in the shoulder during play, heightening the level of concern over how serious the ailment might be, especially after losing quarterback Deshaun Watson for the season after fracturing the glenoid in his throwing shoulder. Consider the conflict averted for Cleveland in this instance as Stefanski remained optimistic about Garrett's ability to play against the Rams in Week 13.
"Myles shoulder is sore, but we feel good about where he'll be," Stefanski said, adding that the former No. 1 overall pick is considered "day-to-day."
After suffering the injury, Garrett wound up playing the majority of the second half without much mobility in his left arm. He finished with just two tackles, one for a loss and a pass deflection, but went without a sack for the first time in five games. In the locker room afterward Garrett needed help getting dressed.
There was a shared sense of relief one day later from Garrett's teammates that he was okay and an appreciation for playing through the injury.
"To have your key player out there on defense is big for the defense," linebacker Sione Takitaki said. "He brings a lot of big plays to us and just his presence alone is big for us. He's a warrior. Continued to play even though he was hurt, could have probably sat out. Just tells you a lot about the type of player he is. Happy that it was nothing crazy and hopefully he can heal up and be ready to go."

The Browns head man noted he should be "good to go." He also called defensive tackle Jordan Elliot "day-to-day" with an ankle injury.
