Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson Headed To Injured Reserve
Dorian Thompson-Robinson has had one of the most interesting rookie seasons a quarterback could have. On Tuesday, the team announced that he too is headed to the injured reserve.
Thompson-Robinson injured his hip in cleanup duty in Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. The injury was enough to end the rookie's season, one that had its fair share of ups and downs.
The rookie's season got off to a hot start in the preseason where he made his name known in his four starts. He set the NFL Preseason off with a dazzling comeback performance in the Hall-of-Fame Game way back in August.
From there he assumed his role as the backup to Deshaun Watson. Thompson-Robinson would get his chance in Week 4 when Watson would be a last-second scratch and DTR was starting against the AFC Top Seed Baltimore Ravens.
He would then go back to the bench and assume the backup position behind PJ Walker. He kept that role until Watson's season came to a complete end and DTR started against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After leading the team to an incredible victory, Thompson-Robinson started the next week in Denver, before leaving that game with a concussion.
From there, Joe Flacco assumed the role as the starting quarterback, but Kevin Stefanski kept a few packages in there for Thompson-Robinson. He was effective when called upon before suffering the hip injury in Sunday's win over Houston.
On the year, Thompson-Robinson finished with a 1-2 record, 440 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.
The earliest that he could be available is the AFC Championship, if the Browns were to make it that far.
