Browns Slated To Face A Gauntlet Of Opposing Quarterbacks In 2024
The Browns 2024 schedule got a little bit tougher on Sunday night.
With news of the Steelers adding veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to their quarterback room, Cleveland is now slated to face the 12-year veteran twice this coming fall.
The Browns schedule was already expected to be slightly tougher after making their second playoff appearance in four seasons. That's par for the course when you are a winning team. However, Cleveland's 2024 schedule is particularly grueling given the prowess of quarterbacks they are slated to face.
In the division alone the Browns will now see the trio of two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, Super Bowl LVI runner-up Joe Burrow, and Super Bowl XLVIII champion Russell Wilson two times a piece, as part of their AFC North slate.Β

It doesn't get any easier outside the division though. A who's who of quarterbacks from the AFC West and NFC East add to the gauntlet of signal callers Deshaun Watson will look to outduel next year.Β
Fresh off a third Super Bowl title, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will make a trip to Cleveland. Same goes for young phenom Justin Herbert, armed with a new coach in Jim Harbaugh. Dak Prescott will bring "America's Team" to town at some point as well, with the Browns expected to battle tush push king Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in a game that could be played in SΓ£o Paulo, Brazil on the opening Friday of the season.
In another pair of AFC matchups with the Jaguars and Dolphins, Cleveland will have their hands full with Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa respectively. Meanwhile, a road trip to Washington could present a new challenge at quarterback depending on what the Commanders do with the No. 2 overall pick in next month's NFL draft.
The coming days should start to provide an outlook into what the 2024 Cleveland Browns will look as free agency opens up officially on Wednesday. Given the roster of quarterbacks they'll meet in next season, general manager Andrew Berry will have plenty of work to do as he looks to rebuild the top defense in football to challenge them.
