Browns wide receiver Michael Woods II was suspended for the final six games this season by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

Woods, however, was already set to miss the remainder of the season due to the Achilles injury he suffered in the spring. A sixth-round pick in 2022, Woods had missed all of his second NFL season with the injury a year after playing 10 games as a rookie.

Woods caught five passes for 45 yards last season. He suffered his Achilles injury while training with Deshaun Watson over the offseason and was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the suspension stemmed from “an incident over the summer.”

The suspension is relatively meaningless toward Woods’ availability next season, and he could be back in the receiving mix for the Browns.

He could face a tough challenge toward cracking a roster spot with Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman all likely to still be at the top of the depth chart. The receiving position could once again be a priority position for the Browns this offseason, too, which would further crowd Woods’ odds of cracking a spot on the team next season.

Woods was drafted 202nd overall by Cleveland in 2022 out of Oklahoma. He initially attended Arkansas his first three college seasons.
