The Cleveland Browns’ bad week of QB news has continued to grow worse.

Deshaun Watson could potentially miss more games due to the injury to his right throwing shoulder, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot. Cabot also reports that the Browns won't put Watson on the field until "he can throw normally and without pain."

Watson was ruled out Friday from the Browns’ Week 6 game against the 49ers, which will be the second straight game he’ll miss with the injury.

Watson’s injury has been reported as a “right rotator cuff contusion." The Browns haven’t ruled Watson out beyond Sunday’s game, but after not practicing at all with the team this week — which followed Cleveland's Week 5 bye week — and undergoing rehab, it’s clear Watson’s availability for the Browns’ Week 7 game against the Colts could be in question, too.

The injury stemmed from a hit he took during the Browns’ Week 3 win over the Titans. Watson was a limited practice participant in the days leading up to their next game against the Ravens, but Watson was ruled out after testing the shoulder in pregame. He was medically cleared to play but was unable to put much velocity on his throws.

P.J. Walker was named the starter over Watson for Week 6 and could start more games if Watson’s status doesn’t change.

The Browns are set to play the Colts, Seahawks and Cardinals over their next three games, which have been considered a much easier stretch of opponents than the Browns have seen at any point this season.

That perspective might change, however, if the Browns are still without their $230 million starting QB.
