Free Agent Dalvin Cook Down to Team up With DeAndre Hopkins, Would Effect AFC

Cleveland Browns path through the AFC could get a bit tougher if Dalvin Cook and DeAndre Hopkins team up somewhere.

There’s a chance the top two free agents on the market could team up. Running back Dalvin Cook revealed that he would team up with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

“I know his mindset, and I done played against D-Hop a numerous amount of times,” said Cook on an episode of The Adam Schefter Podcast. "I want to go win. Like I said, the money is gonna come and that's going to happen. But like as far as going to lift that trophy up, he got the same mindset as me."

For it to work, the two would have to obviously take pay cuts. To this point, the Cleveland Browns have not been connected to Cook. They were connected to Hopkins in a way but it was never anything substantial. That leaves other AFC options on the table since both would like to go somewhere and win. Hopkins has visited both the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots.

As mentioned, both would take a pay cut, so it opens the door for the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are Super Bowl contenders and their chances would strengthen by signing these two players.

After failing to be traded, both players were released and sit with the option to sign with any team. As training camp inches closer, the two will sign before too long.

“If we end up on the same roster, that would be something epic for the NFL.”
