Could Travis Kelce to Finish His Career in Cleveland? Fellow East Sider Makes Him an Offer
Travis Kelce has been one of the best players in all of the NFL for the better part of the last five years. He and Patrick Mahomes have developed a chemistry that is unlike anything else in this league and they have become one of the best quarterback and tight end duos to ever play the game.
Kelce's career stats are some of the best that you will ever see. In 154 career games, he has compiled 11,076 yards, 74 receiving touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns and averages an NFL record 71.9 yards per game. At his current pace, he would need 54 more games to become the NFL's leader in yards surpassing Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez with 15,128 yards. What took Gonzalez 270 games to achieve would take Kelce 200.
However, every career has a second act. Could Kelce's second act be on the shores of Lake Erie, just 10 minutes from where he grew up? Well, Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly took a shot at convincing Taylor Swift's boyfriend to trade his red and yellow for a little hometown Brown and Orange.
On Wednesday's episode of the New Heights Podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, MGK made an appearance offering Travs: a $500,000 cash on arrival (just for shopping), a $500,000 donation to Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights High School, everyday breakfast and coffee delivery from 27 Club Coffee
All Kelce would have to do is come home and play for the Browns. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.
While this clip is mostly in jest, it is fun to imagine what Kelce would look like in a Browns uniform even if it was just for a few years. He has a pretty good thing going in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes at the moment so it would take some time to make it a reality. Plus, he has two years left on his current KC contract so Clevelanders can only dream for now.
When the time is right and 2025 free agency comes around, if Kelce has anything left in the tank, it sure looks like the campaigning to bring him home will be loud and will MGK will be leading the charge.
