Schefter: "David Njoku Is Expected to Play vs. the 49ers"

Despite suffering severe burns to his hand and face, the Browns tight end is expected to play Sunday vs. the 49ers

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku experienced a nightmare scenario during the bye week. The details are unclear, but what is known is that Njoku suffered severe burns to his hands and face.

Njoku is in year seven as a pro, all with the Cleveland Browns. In his career he has 222 catches for 2,520 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has been one of the bright spots on the Cleveland Browns over the last decade.

Before talking more football, Njoku expressed his gratitude about not being severely injured and even blinded by the accident. He was not wearing eye protection and he is "lucky to not be blind."

David Njoku is a key player to the Browns success. Not only is he very hard to guard when he is a receiver, but he completely changes the run game. He is an extension of both the tackles and is a force in the run blocking game.

Having Njoku available on Sunday is massive for the Browns. He is a leader of the team and he is a force to be reckoned with on the field.

The Browns need all of the help they can get on Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers. Having an elite blocker at your disposal is critical when facing this daunting 49ers defense.

David Njoku is toughness personified. He has experienced an incredible career with the Cleveland Browns. From very few wins and a vast number of losses and now dodging potential tragedy, David Njoku has seen it all, and has responded every day.

I am excited to see No. 85 go put it all on the line on Sunday afternoon.
