The Cleveland Browns appear to have dodged a bullet on the injury front in regard to starting safety Grant Delpit. Delpit was in uniform and practiced with the team today. A practice that was moved indoors for the second consecutive day due to inclement weather.

Delpit left practice early yesterday after he collided violently with receiver Jaylen Wayne away from the ball as Wayne was attempting to run his route. Delpit must not have seen him coming as he was defending another receiver in the same area. He went to the ground in discomfort before walking back to the locker room with trainers.

This is good news for the team and Delpit, after reports and video of the injury flooded social media, the initial concerns were that it could be something more serious like a collarbone fracture. The team later communicated that Delpit had an arm injury and would be considered day to day. It is still undetermined if Delpit will play with the starters in Kansas City as he is still probably experiencing soreness from the collision.

Delpit is looking to build upon his breakout performance down the stretch of last season where he emerged as a ball hawk. He intercepted four passes and led the team in tackles. With his return to practice to practice today it appears he will most certainly be ready for Week 1 against the Bengals.
