Dorian Thompson-Robinson Exits Game in Denver with Injury
Dorian Thompson-Robinson was grinding his way through his third career start. The Browns were in the game and got the ball back with 1:25 left in the third quarter trailing 17-12.
The Browns had all of the momentum in the game and were looking to try and take the lead.
On first down, DTR fired a strike to David Njoku which the big tight end dropped. On second down the Browns ran it to try and get some space. Then, on third and twelve, the Browns dropped back to pass and Thompson-Robinson tried to make a play happen.
The initial read was covered up so DTR started to scramble to make a play. He reversed to his left and then spun back to his right. He found a target while he was rolling back right and went to pull the trigger.
At the same time that he was making the throw, Bronco's linebacker Brian Browning squared up DTR and laid a massive hit on him.
The ball fell incomplete but a flag flew and the Browns were awarded a first down on a roughing the passer penalty.
Cleveland was granted a first down on the play, but Thompson-Robinson's day was done. The report from the Fox broadcast was that Thompson-Robinson came off the field with a bloody mouth and headed to the blue tent.
He tried to escape the doctors but he was unable to. He would exit the game with a head injury finishing his third career start with a statline of 14-for-29 for 134 yards and his first career touchdown.
PJ Walker came in for DTR in relief of the rookie.
