Former Browns' Head Coach Hue Jackson Looking For Another Job

Browns head coach Hue Jackson was relieved of his duties at Grambling State after a second consecutive losing season

It has been six years now since Hue Jackson coached the Cleveland Browns and he'll be looking for his fourth coaching job since then.

After Grambling State's loss to Southern University on November 25th, the program made the decision to part ways with Jackson and to move in a different direction after his two seasons at the helm.

Dr. Trayvean Scott along with the Grambling State Atheltic Department released this statement,

After leading the Browns to a combined 3-36-1 record in his two-and-a-half seasons in Cleveland, Jackson has struggled to find any but temporary new homes in football.

Once his firing from the Browns took place, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff under Marvin Lewis who was then fired at the end of the 2018 season. Who could forget the famous Demarious Randall interception down on the shores of the Ohio River, where he made sure to taunt Jackson a little bit?

After his stint with the Bengals, Jackson went south the Tennessee State and joined Eddie George's coaching staff as his offensive coordinator. This position lasted just one season as Jackson took over as the Grambling State Head Coach in 2021.

Gramling State's program was struggling at the time, coming off two straight losing seasons. They had hoped that Jackson was going to be the solution. In his first year, the Tigers went a disappointing 3-8 but finished winning two of their last four games to build some momentum.

This season the Tigers improved their record to 5-6, and 4-4 inside the SWAC. A decent improvement from Jackson's first season but it wasn't enough. After falling to Southern University, Grambling State decided it was time to move in a different direction.

For Jackson, it is back to the drawing board to find another coaching position.
