After Free Agent Visit, Former Steelers LB Devin Bush Signing With Browns

Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report, before other outlets confirmed, that Bush is signing with Cleveland. The deal is reportedly for one year.
Bush was drafted by the Steelers 10th overall in the 2019 and quickly became touted as the next great linebacker of Steelers lore following a memorable rookie season. That fall Bush racked up 109 tackles, nine tackles for loss and a sack, while showcasing his ability to drop into coverage by snaring two interceptions, breaking up four passes and recovering four fumbles.

The Michigan product played in just five games before sustaining the injury in 2020. When he returned in 2021, Bush failed showcase the athleticism that defined him during his rookie year and his numbers took a dip. There was marginal improvement in his fourth season in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers declined his fifth-year option and he entered free agency for the first time last offseason.
Bush spent the 2023 season in Seattle, appearing in 13 games. He amassed 37 tackles, including five for a loss. The Browns saw veteran LB Anthony Walker Jr. and 2019 third-round pick Sionne Takitaki depart via free agency in recent days the Browns have been prioritizing linebacker as a position of need. The team already agreed to terms on a two-year deal for nine-year veteran Jordan Hicks and now add Bush into the fold as well.
