Freddie Kitchens on team's current state and identity
Before the Cleveland Browns head off for summer vacation, Freddie Kitchens finished up minicamp with his final media availability until the team comes back for training camp. He was asked about the current state of the team, what was accomplished in minicamp and then on the identity of the team.
Kitchens described minicamp as establishing a base of what the team is going to be doing. Timing and details need to be refined, understandably.
But Kitchens said he was happy with the focus of the team grinding through for effectively two weeks. He acknowledged that some of what they are doing can be redundant, monotonous, so he was happy with the way the team handled it.
As it pertains to the team's identity, Kitchens said it is too early to say what the Browns identity is, noting that the players ultimately determine the team's identity. They have to decide what the team's identity will be over the course of training camp and it may continue to evolve during the regular season.
Kitchens did explain what he hopes the team's identity becomes. That would be a team that is the most physical on the field, plays great defense, be great on special teams and move the ball offense.
