The Cleveland Browns already fear the worst as it pertains to their right tackle Jack Conklin, who left the game on a cart with a painful looking knee injury. It turns out that their left tackle Jedrick Wills had some X-rays done after the game as well according to Tom Withers of the Associated Press. An update is expected Monday.

Conklin's knee gave when Trey Hendrickson collided with him it at a bad angle. The medical staff wasted no time getting the cart out and declaring him out immediately. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski wouldn't speculate as to what the injury was in the postgame press conference.

Rookie Dawand Jones stepped and played well under the circumstances. The Browns offenses didn't miss a beat with the fourth-round pick in the game.

It's not clear what area of Wills' body the team did imaging, but he did play the full game. Wills has shown remarkable toughness playing through pain and there wasn't anything obviously wrong with him during the game, not much of a hint that something was wrong.

If it turns out Wills is injured and would miss time, the Browns would put James Hudson III opposite Jones on the offensive line. They'd also be through their depth at that position one week into the season.

The Browns ran into a similar situation in 2021 when Wills suffered an injury and missed time only to have backup Chris Hubbard suffer a season-ending triceps injury.

Bill Callahan, the team's offensive line coach and his assistant Scott Peters have been among the best in the NFL, but they'd be facing a major challenge to potentially be down both starting tackles with 17 games to go.

For the Browns' sake, the hope is the X-Rays came back negative, only a precautionary measure for their starting left tackle. The Browns will face the Pittsburgh Steelers and the combination of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith coming off the edges, which is a difficult matchup in the best case scenario.
