Joe Flacco Hit Career Milestone In Victory Over New York Jets

Browns' Quarterback Joe Flacco passed yet another career milestone in Cleveland's win over New York
In this story:

Joe Flacco's time in Cleveland has been something out of a storybook. Six weeks ago he was at his house on Sunday watching the NFL on Redzone wondering if he would have a chance to play again.

Fast forward to Week 17, and he has the second best odds to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year, he has thrown for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, has a 4-1 record and most importantly has the Browns in the playoffs for the second time in four seasons. He is doing this for a franchise that was his rival for the early part of his career.

On Thursday Night, Flacco threw for nearly 300 yards in the first half en route to a dominant 37-20 victory to clinch a playoff berth.

By hitting those marks, Flacco also reached a historic career milestone. His 15th completion on Thursday Night marked 4,000 career completions for his career. He becomes just the 13th NFL quarterback in the history of the game to complete 4,000 passes. Only three active players have achieved the same feat.

Flacco has completed passes for four different franchises. He spent the first 11 years of his career with Baltimore Ravens and those years account for 3,499 of the 4,000 completions.

He added another 171 completions during his one year in Denver, with an additional 211 coming during his three years in New York.

His six weeks in Cleveland have produced some of the best football of his career. He acknowledged on the Pat McAfee Show Friday that he is playing some of the best ball of his life. If it continues this into the playoffs there's no telling where he and this Browns team can go.
